Jam Town specialises in importing multicultural fair trade rhythm and wind instruments from low income artisans around the world. Established in 1995, they are based in North America.
What began as a passion for adventure, travel and music for founder John Hayden, turned into a business that connects people around the globe. Jam Town work directly with artisans, cooperatives and Non-Governmental Organisations in six countries.
The artisans are hard working craftspeople in both distant villages and in the suburbs of large cities; often continuing family legacies and preserving historical art forms. Producers often rely on cooperatives to coordinate activity with foreign buyers. These organisations provide the crucial functions required for export management whilst ensuring fair trade principles are upheld for their producers.
