Tara Projects

TARA (Trade Alternative Reform Action) Projects was formed in the early seventies to create livelihoods for economically disadvantaged artisans and craftsmen in Northern India. These artisans use intergenerational skills, or are trained in new skills to create a bright sustainable future for themselves.

Tara Projects have a strong focus on protection of the environment and healthy and safe working spaces for the employees. They provide affordable health care, medical insurance and education which benefits the artisans and their communities. They also provide access to international fair trade markets for their unique and beautifully crafted products.
