Montessori Dual Discs
A classic Montessori toy that uses both sides of the brain to encourage development. The discs are strategically placed to encourage a baby to grasp and cross the midline of the body when transferring between the hands.
The simple design of this wooden toy has a dual purpose: crawling motivation and hand-to-hand transfer. The unique positioning of the discs means hand to hand transfer also requires some wrist rotation. Due to the way they are designed, with a slight tap, the disks gently wobble away from a baby. This slight movement is just enough get a baby to "chase" after it, but not so much movement to lose the baby's interest or make it impossible to catch.
Ideal for use by young children to develop motor control, hand-eye coordination, and concentration. They are also perfect for a loose parts or heuristic play basket, and older children may also enjoy this toy, as it is a wonderfully tactile ‘fidget’ tool for little hands. Please note these discs do not separate as our other interlocking discs are designed to do.
