Woven Shaker - Coconut Caxixi

Traditionally named caxixi (ca-she-she), they are traditionally played in pairs. Beautiful, natural and fun percussion instruments which produce a range of sounds depending on how they are played.

The shakers are hand woven with a coconut base and are filled with small pebbles. When shaken and rotated the caxixi makes a mixture of soft and sharp percussive sounds. It is typically played upright, using a sharp up-and-down motion so the pebbles strike the hard base. Also available in a coloured version. Price is for one caxixi.
