Manos Amigas is a fair trade organisation dedicated to the export of handicrafts. It was established in Lima in 1991 and the name means 'Hands Joined In Friendship'.
Manos Amigas works with family workshops and small business groups in impoverished areas of Lima and in the Andean highlands. They offer training for their artisans and participate in international trade fairs to gain new markets for their products.
Artisans use their intergenerational skills to create businesses that preserve traditional craft skills and support educational aspirations for their families and future generations.
