Tender Leaf's range of imaginative and durable wooden toys are crafted by Mentari International in Indonesia. Their factory operates with high standards of training, wellbeing and respect for it's workers and the environment, providing dependable employment for hundreds of local villagers.
From raw wood to the finished product, every single stage of production happens in the same family-run factory. Once each toy has been hand-painted, assembled and checked, it is wrapped in paper and packaged in recycled cardboard. The toys are thoroughly tested, safe and durable, meeting New Zealand ISO safety standards.
Mentari International are deeply committed to protecting Indonesia’s natural resources and only work with reclaimed rubberwood, a by-product of the latex industry. They support a cycle of regeneration - for every reclaimed tree they use, a new one is planted.
Tender Leaf Toys have been awarded the ICTI Ethical Toy Program seal of approval for their ethical and sustainable supply chain.
